Gate : The main feature of the gate valve is the gate, which is a flat or wedge-shaped metal disc that slides vertically to block or allow the flow.
Seat : The gate valve has a seat (usually metal) where the gate rests when closed, forming a seal to stop the flow.
Stem : A rod that connects the valve actuator to the gate. The actuator (manual wheel or motorized) controls the movement of the stem and gate.
Body : The valve body houses the internal components and is typically made of materials like cast iron, carbon steel, or stainless steel.
The gate moves up and down, which allows or stops the fluid flow. The flow path is unobstructed when the valve is fully open.
Gate valves are usually operated by a handwheel, actuator, or motor, depending on the design.
On/Off Control : Gate valves are generally not used for regulating flow, as they are designed to be either fully open or fully closed.
No throttling : They provide little to no throttling capabilities and should not be used in applications that require precise flow control.
Wedge Gate Valve : The most common design, where the gate is wedge-shaped and fits into a corresponding wedge-shaped seat.
Parallel Gate Valve : The gate and the seat are parallel to each other. This type is less common and typically used in low-pressure systems.
Knife Gate Valve : Designed for slurries or thick, viscous fluids, these valves feature a sharp edge (knife) to cut through materials.
Our GATE VALVES provide our clients following advantages :
Minimal Pressure Drop : Since the gate is out of the flow path when fully open, it allows for minimal pressure drop.
Durability : Gate valves are durable and can handle high-pressure applications.
Simple Design : The design is relatively simple, making them cost-effective and easy to maintain.
